The case of Javier Bagalá is singular because his work invites us to describe it as another type of art. Since of his versatility, which is not eclecticism, he is like a painter who has used different brushes throughout his career, without abusing the change of palette. For his previous solo debut, he used fine strokes of Rock with melody and particular experimentation. In “Causa y Efecto” he returns to the group format and to a sharper sound. Although it is not the thickest marked stroke as in Nepal, it is more “heavy” than the previous record. None of this is a sign of conflict with all his past work. This is shown by the remake of the classic “Besando la Tierra”, which summarizes and updates the “palette” in which Javier and his band drink today. They manage to achieve the different tones and colors that make this album, a very varied, balanced and above all, cohesive one. It is no longer the format of “solo guitar”, but “the six strings” are still the central stars of this rock heavy music heaven. The talent is to show timeless compositions with naturalness and apparent simplicity. That is Javier Bagalá Dharma in the 21st century.
